There are a variety of governmental resources that provided recommended daily allowances based on age, sex and other factors, however for the majority of adults a healthy diet will not vary a great deal, although you should be aware of your individual bodily needs and how to eat healthy.

As a general guideline for most adults, we should be getting most of our energy from carbohydrates such as pasta, potatoes, beans, rice etc, and about 20% of out diet should come from fats and protein. One great healthy eating tip is to try to ensure that your diet contains as much foods rich is fibre and starch and try to have smaller amounts of fats, especially saturated fats and sugars.
